Minor Blues

R ♭3 4 ♭5 5 ♭7

The minor blues is basically a minor pentatonic with an added "blues" note (b5). The history of the blues note can be traced back to African music, particularly the music of West Africa, where the use of microtones, or notes that fall between the pitches of a Western scale, was common. This is an essential scale for a guitarists palette.
